It’s the first day of winter and baby it’s cold outside! Winter can be a rough + stressful time of year. The holidays can be hectic + the weather takes a toll on our skin + keeps us inside a lot more than we want to be.
But things aren’t all bad during the winter! I’ve realized that it’s all about the little things during this season. You can really come to appreciate and take the time to show your gratitude to the little things in life!
Here are a few things that will keep you warm + help you get through these winter days at home.
1. Cinnamon Apple Red Sangria
What better way to stay warm than with a tasty holiday drink! I was so excited to find this Cinnamon Apple Red Sangria recipe by foodie expert, Mel Rose (@officialmelrose). It is so perfect for a holiday party + and as Mel puts it, “it feels like a wool blanket for my insides”.
Recipe makes 4:
1 bottle red wine of choice (Malbec is always a good choice)
1 teaspoon dried nutmeg
2 bottles IZZE Sparkling Apple
2 teaspoons cinnamon
Cinnamon sticks for garnish
Combine the wine and nutmeg in jar that large enough to hold 750ml of wine. Stir and let sit for 20-30 minutes. Serve into 4 glasses and top each one off with a generous pour of IZZE Sparkling Apple (about ½ bottle each).
Sprinkle on about ½ a teaspoon of ground cinnamon to each + garnish with cinna-sticks.
Snuggling up in a knit blanket or getting into cute knit thigh high socks can be the best feeling ever! Bundle up with a cup of coffee and some Netflix for the coziest winter night in.
3. Bath Oils
What’s more relaxing than a warm bath, especially when it’s a cold winter day. Using bath oils are a great way to enjoy a bath by moisturizing your skin at the same time. Lush’s Luxury Bath Oils have decadent butters and essential oils that melt into the water keeping your skin extremely soft and giving you a bit of aroma therapy for the ultimate relaxation.
Who doesn’t love candles? The smell, the warmth, something about candles just makes you feel so comfortable, relaxed and at home. Bath & Body Works makes the cutest holiday candles perfect for getting in any holiday mood.
What better ways than to beat the winter blues other than with your besties! Take the time to do a little holiday get together for yourselves. Get a small pot luck going, some drinks (hint, hint, see #1), a white elephant gift exchange, games (scattergories is a good one) and enjoy a night in together.
