Three Tips to get into your Creative Space with Brittney Banks! ๐ŸŽจ

We are so thrilled to feature Brittney Banks, the artist behind the DefineMe Fragrance girls! We couldn't be more grateful to work with such an amazing person and artist. I mean, how cute are the DefineMe girls! ๐Ÿ‘ฏ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ‘ฏ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ‘ฏ๐Ÿ’•

Brittney has the cutest line of greeting cards and other art and paper goods! She is also a freelance illustrator and offers custom illustrations.

With so many amazing projects going on...we wanted to know how Brittney gets her creativity flowing. So we asked her...

๐ŸŽจWhat are 3 things you do to get into your creative thought space?๐ŸŽจ

I find it really helpful to clear my head with this practice so I can focus on the task at hand, no matter what it is (coffee with a friend, gym time, reading a book). I try to do 10 minutes a day (using Headspace). Just the idea of trying to focus on one thing and nothing else has helped me to accomplish more with my creative projects.

Drawing can be really hard on the body! And if my body isnโ€™t happy I find it difficult to focus creatively so starting my day with alignment stretching also helps to center my thoughts. Putting my body first isn't always easy, but when I do, I definitely notice an improvement in my work life.

Turn off devices/time commitment:ย

If I REALLY need to focus on my work, I turn off the distractions (phone, email, etc) and tell myself I have a certain amount of time (20 mins, 3 hours, etc) to complete something. I find that if I give myself a certain amount of time I am much more productive and efficient and create better work.ย

Yay Brittney! Her passion is inspirationalย making her art that much more beautiful. ๐Ÿ˜
