The power of smell! It is the one of our 5 senses that is so often underestimated!  There are several studies on why scents play a big role in our daily mood and how they can elevate our relaxation, happiness, energy, and more. Aromatherapy is powerful ladies! Here are some of the most popular scents that promote relaxation.

LAVENDER

According to a  recent study, lavender slows down activity in the sympathetic nervous system where the body responds to stress.  It is used to treat anxiety, mild stress, and insomnia giving people improved quality of sleep and relaxation.

BERGAMOT

Native to Italy, Bergamot is a fruit that is similar to a lemon.  The oil is extracted from the peel of the fruit and has been shown to be useful in treating depression and uplift one dealing with anxiety and stress.

SANDALWOOD

The tree of sandalwood is one of the best fragrances that promote relaxation and induce meditative states.  Studies show that when a person smells the scent, the brain waves relax.

MANDARIN

This scent gives off an uplifting, balancing, and calming effect on our bodies. Psychologists have studied the scent of mandarin and found that it creates a hypnotic effect soothing the anxious minds .

JASMINE

“Mistress of the Night”, Jasmine, has captured poet’s imagination in the ancient times since the flower produces it's oil in the night time. Studies in Tokyo reveal that jasmine enhances mental alertness and is used often as an antidepressant.

FOR SHINY + SOFT HAIR 1 avocado, 2 eggs, 1 tbsp of honey, 1 tbsp of coconut oil

FOR STRONG + MOISTURIZED HAIR  1 tbsp of coconut oil, 1 tbsp of honey

FOR LESS FRIZZ 1 sliced banana, 1 tbsp plain yogurt, 1 tbsp Honey

💕Treat your Skin💕

It's not a spa without face masks (and man, are they a lifesaver! #notallheroswearcapes). Steam your face by putting a clean, steaming hot towel over your face for about 1 minute. This will open up your pores and prep your skin for best results.

DIY FACEMASKS

DETOXED + CLEAR SKIN Mix 1 tsp Bentonite clay + 1 tsp warm water, 1-2 drops of lemon essential oil

BRIGHT + BALANCED SKIN 7 strawberries + 1 tbsp raw honey Blend until paste forms

MOISTURIZE + HEAL 1 tbsp raw honey, 1/2 tsp tumeric and a squeeze of lemon juice

💕Quiet your Mind with Essential/Fragrance Oils💕
